The first is channel-reported data, understood for what it is: each platform's best attempt to claim credit, almost always inflated. The second is multi-touch attribution run in a tool your team controls, not inside any one ad platform. The third is periodic incrementality tests on the channels where the stakes are highest.
None of these layers is sufficient alone. Channel data overstates performance. Multi-touch models distribute credit without proving causation. Incrementality tests are snapshots, not continuous measurement. Together, they give you a workable picture of what is actually happening.
First-party data is what makes this stack viable at scale. If your CRM is not connected to your ad platforms, you are flying on last-click and hoping for the best. Getting your customer data infrastructure right before layering on attribution sophistication is not optional.
